Forestsafe came to us with a clear challenge. Their paper-based health and safety system was working well for hundreds of forestry contractors, but as their user base grew, so did the complexity. They needed a digital version of their system that could support crews working in remote areas, reduce time spent on admin, and keep everything organised and accessible without relying on mobile coverage. The goal wasn’t to reinvent the wheel, just to make it easier to turn.

We partnered with the Forestsafe team to design and develop a mobile app that fits naturally into how contractors already work, particularly when they’re halfway up a forestry or on a busy civil site. The app includes secure document storage, offline access, expiry reminders, fillable PDF forms, and built-in backups. It’s simple, intuitive, and built to support real-world use. Most importantly, it’s a tool their clients can rely on in the field, whether they’re checking licenses, running tailgate meetings, or updating safety procedures. Since launch, we’ve continued to refine the platform in response to feedback, ensuring it stays relevant and easy to use.
Today, over 150 businesses across New Zealand use the Forestsafe app as part of their daily operations. It’s helped reduce paperwork, improve compliance, and made it easier for teams to focus on the job at hand. For us, it’s been a rewarding project not just because of the technology, but because it’s helping keep people safe in some of the country’s toughest working conditions.
